I was feeling somewhat nostalgic today, and that resulted in a look-back through old, mostly failed projects. But some of those failed projects still delight me nonetheless, and most of them involve, in one way or another, my best friend since college.

He and I have been through a ridiculous amount of life together - a little bit of high school, lots of college, relationships, break-ups, engagements, marriage, children, pets, cross-country (and once even cross-continent) moves, fights, disagreements, and the entire Twilight Saga. But over the past year or two we have gotten, I think, even closer than ever as we've journeyed together through the world of writing and the pursuit of publication.

I seem to remember there was a time when we didn't really share our writing with each other. Now, keep in mind, he is an actual a writer. His education and his career have always been writing-oriented. I, meanwhile, was a psychology major turned theater major turned banker who decided to write a book because, hey...why not?! We've been huge parts of each others' lives for fifteen years or so, but the writing wasn't really something we shared. And then suddenly, we did. We were working on novels at the same time, and we started talking about it. And then suddenly we were both querying literary agents at the same time. Because I am infamously impatient, I decided to go the self-publishing route and he is seeking traditional publication. And now, I'm thrilled to announce, while still remaining completely secretive about it...we're working on a writing project together, and having a fantastic time.

But, as I eluded to earlier, this is not, by any means, the first project we have worked on together. However, it may be, I suspect, the first one we actually follow through on together! We've had two different blogs together, and neither of them lasted very long. But during my nostalgic review today, I was reminded that there is some funny (at least to us!) stuff on those blogs. So, with his permission, I will be posting some of it on this blog in the coming days.

As we said on one of our blogs, we have more inside joke than Geena Davis has IQ points. (And that's a lot!) And this was the same blog that featured an option to rate our posts on the Daly Scale. Was it a Tyne, a Tim, or a Carson? This is what you have to look forward to in the coming days.

You've been warned.
